~Been thinking about how I've been here for 21 years.

Literally two decades now

And I'm having flash backs of when I was in primary school, sixth grade, Christmas parties when we'll all bring food to school and share it and you'll barely ever eat anything from your plate but you'll always leave full... When we all loved and shared and life was still fairly simple and new.

Or when I first met x and she was wearing her South African Jersey and she had glasses on.

LOL now I'm thinking about the first time we met and how different we both are compared to who we were.

Idk.

In these memories I find "myself" and so much peace and joy in remembering things from the past.

I'm having so many flashbacks rn I don't think I can type them all down but yeah.

I'm a big believer that the key to the future is locked in the past.

And the present is literally a gift from God. Because its the only point in which we can act out our will.

And there Is soo much we don't understand but one trap we've all fell into is the constant thirst for more.

Our quest to fill that void within us.

Which despite the fact that we have tried to fill a million times, it's like we still haven't learned that our approach is seriously flawed.

One thing I've noticed is how alive I feel in those brief moments I remember things from my past. And these memories that light me up usually have little to do with the times I achieved things that align with society's definition of success which (correct me if I'm wrong) is measured by how successful we think others think we are.

But yeah these moments that light me up are usually times that may seem insignificant whiles they are happening or even tragic but somehow they've seemed to stick with me all these years..

The tragic events light me up because they not only teach me how strong I never realized I was, they also bring a smile to my face because I have grown to see the lesson God was trying to teach me.

The mundane events open my eyes to how literally every single moment in life is meaningful but as its happening, that flawed judge in my head (that never seems to shut up) evaluates what I am experiencing as significant or not based on what it thinks a significant moment is..

And years after... As these memories flash through my head, I start to see how significant each moment I have ever experienced is...each in its own way. from the moments I faced my fears to the moments I betrayed myself.... From the times I wasted to the times I spend remembering the Creator.

Imagine if we always reminded ourselves that every moment we experience is significant... How the present is just that. A present from God...

Imagine if we start living like the greatest of all creators wants us to.. The one that's free from flaw... Literally the all knowing. Who decided that we are worthy of being created and given life and free will... How ungrateful are we to still complain when we still have the present..

The gift....

Don't you think we are really ungrateful for not appreciating how unique every moment we experience is?

Now that you know what the gift is, are you fully in the present?
